Lido Key Condominiums - Update

As we reported in our August post, the Lido Key condos market was steady all summer. Summer is usually the slow season in Sarasota, but we were getting calls and showing property throughout the summer months. The increased activity was probably due to the $8,000 tax credit and also partially due to investors scooping up properties at rock bottom prices. Condominiums on Lido Key in the affordable buildings are saw more traffic and as reported, requests for information on our website are up considerably!

Lido Key Condos Update

The Lido Key condos market has been steady this summer. Summer is usually slow, but this year business seems to be rather steady. Condominiums on Lido Key in the popular buildings are seeing more traffic and requests for information on our website are up from last year!

Lido Key Beach is referred to as a European style beach. Visitors from around the world arrive at hotels such as the Holiday Inn, Lido Beach Resort and Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel to visit this beach. The Lime Tree is a timeshare complex that sees plenty of visitors too. For long-term rentals, European visitors enjoy the Ritz Carlton Beach Residences.

Green Flash - A Lido Key Sunset Beach Drink

At the Ritz Carlton Beach Club on Lido Key Beach, not too long ago, we noticed several couples sipping on what we later found to be a Green Flash. I’m sure you’ve heard of the green flash of light at sunset. You can’t always see it, but, when you do, the flash is an extraordinary quick glimmer of light right before the sun disappears in the horizon.

The Ritz Carlton is known for its fabulous Chocolate Martinis so once we noticed the Green Flash, we were ready to try this alluring new drink. We were told the Ritz’s own Peter Whitely, bartender and mixologist invented the mesmerizing concoction. If you are at the Members Only Beach Club on Lido Beach, you might even be present for the nightly sunset ceremony where the Green Flash is sipped by couples searching the Sarasota sunset for that quick green flash.

If you can’t be on Lido Beach for sunset or to test a green flash, here’s the recipe:

Tall glass of ice
1.5 oz gold tequila
2 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. sour mix
(fresh-squeezed lemon juice and sugar)
Top with Midori melon liqueur. Watch as the Midori trickles down through the colored juices.

Garnish with a cherry fastened to an orange wedge on edge of the glass.
